Project Olympus. 15 of June, 2014

Background:

''It is said, that in the ancient times, that only Gods were allowed to live at the top of Mount. Olympus.''

When we are growing up, we are exposed to many different fairy tales about heroes and princesses, demons and monsters as well as a happily ever after.

Stories about men and women slowly becomes rumors , that will eventually become myths and myths will become legends and legends will never die as long as their spirits and stories keeps on being told by people around our world and in the end – they will be seen as immortal.

Some of the greatest fighters, thinkers, inventours of all time got their inspirations from others, some find it inside and some, some were simply born with it.

Many people seek to the Gods for wisdom and guidence in their life, others find it in the once they love and some are still searching.

I have decided to climb the mount of Gods – The Olympus.

The day of deciding:

Growing up I offent believed in these fairy tales about legends and the moral and justice they stood for, that if you work hard and never give up despite what life throws at you, you will one day achieve the goal that you've set out for yourself.

Being adopted and raised in a culture where people from a different country weren't that accepted made it hard for me to make friends and to get along. Spending most of my childhood watching cartoons and series about great heroes fighting their everyday battles and managed not only to win the battle but to overcome whatever battle the future might hold.

So, when I was visiting a friend of mine in Oropos, Greece, we were talking about the Greek mythology and I asked him, ''wouldn't it be wicked to climb Mt.Olympus?''.

Where he turns to me and say, ''yeha, well it is possible!''.

In shock, I started to ask questions about it, the level difficulties, what month were best to climb it in and what kind of weather conditions I would face.

He had about the same knowledge about it as what I had so I decided to do some researches about it and it turns out that I am not in need of any specific climbing equipment, which is good – due to my lack of experience, and the month that apparently is the best to climb in would be in June. When the snow is gone and spring is approaching.

So I have made it my new goal, since I like to do things that most of the people would say is either impossible or a waste of time, well I see it as a great challange, to push my body to survive new elements and challanges that I am not used to, so for the next 291 days of my life I will be working hard both to earn enough money to go there as well as pushing my body to preform not only the climb but to do it in 1 day (it is considered to be a 1-2 day trip).

I have a few close people to help me out with the personal coaching and to train me in nutrition and building a good core and balance.

I will not only do that, but I will also keep weekly updates about how my physical progress looks, taking weekly pictures, so every Sunday you will have new statistics such as; weight, pictures of individual as well as cover photos

So from this moment, I will accept this quest, and I will not quit and the mountain will be climbed the 15th of June, 2014.

Cya all tomorrow morning, good night!
