Breaking limits!

Hey guys!

So I know that it's been a while since I've been talking to you all, but sadly not much has been done towards my goal..until today!

As many of you know I suffer from some major lower back problems from my basketball career and sadly this has been a huge obstical to a lot of my everyday life activites. Sometimes even sitting on a chair or standing is very painfull to me.

This used to be so bad, that at some point even putting on my pants would hurt...

However, lately I've been working to strengthen not only back but my whole core, which you guys have seen from the pictures that I've posted is going well *Flex*.

And due to this there is a certain exercis that I've neve been able to do without having a ridiculous pain afterwards, and that's the ''deadlifts'', and by that name I can understand why. Now, many of you out there might say that this is just a heavy exercises, you just need the tecnique in order to make it right, well the thing is that I know that. But if you couldn't wipe your ass after you been at the toilet in case you're afraid that your back is going to hurt, then that kind of put some pressure on your mental limits and what you're capable of..

So today at the gym, we tried it, not the wiping my ass part but the deadlift you freaky basterds - get real! Now I've been telling Samuel since we started that I can basical

ly do all the exercises except ''deadlifts'', so he knows how much that effects me both physicly and mentaly, since that was one of the main reasons why I quit basketball a couple of years ago. But yet, he told me that today we're going to do it. And for some reason, I don't know why, but I've been feeling really comfident lately, my back has been feeling alot stronger since we started working together and I just said, ''yeah, lets' do it!'', without really thinking it through.

So basically for you who don't know what a deadlift is, is that you lift (surprise, I know) the bar with or without weights straight up from the floor from a solid position almost sitting down where your lower back kind of has a S curve and your upperbody is suppose to be in a almost a straight line. This is a really bad description but you can look at the pictures on Google or Youtube to see how it's suppose to be.

And not did I only do it, but I did it better then what I could've ever expected. Close to tears and feeling like the nightmare was finally over, I lifted, not only what I used to train (about 2 years ago when I just tried it from time to time to have a exercises in between sets) which was 40 kilos (and for you who goes to the gym knows that, that is a super, super light) all the way up and made 1 rep on 120 kilos!

Now, some might say that, that's not as much, or that only 1 rep doesn't matter! Well f you guys then, this is not about the weight itself, but that I manage after many years of pain and telling me that I could never do it or that I was always going to be that guy who's never going to be able to make a ''deadlift'' above 40 kilos without nearly die. This is one of the biggest accomplishments in my career..yet!

And I am so happy and close to tears...that I can finally wipe my ass without having that much pain!

Oh yeah, and actually make a proper deadlift!!

So, til next time guys! Whenever you doubt yourself or even how many times you've kept telling yourself that you can't - then you got to do it, don't let the fear of failing keeping you from reaching your true potential!!

Work Hard!
